FA0053 - Matryoshka spinning top 3in1

Manufacturing techniques: Hand painting/decoupage.
This top was carved in the Upper Volga region, the Russian centre of matryoshka carving.
The carved parts were assembled, doll within doll, and then delivered to the workshop in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The artists first hand-paint the background and then apply various detailed elements such as faces, which are printed on a very thin vinyl adhesive. These elements are reproduced original artworks.
Finally, each doll is finished with several coats of non-toxic water-based varnish to create a wonderful matryoshka that will delight children and collectors.
