Raising awareness of fair trade and expanding the market for Indian handicrafts - that is the declared aim of the Indian fair trade organisation Fair Gift.
Founded in 2013, the organisation now works with around 15 producer groups in southern India, which produce wooden cutlery such as rice spoons and incense sticks, toys, ceramics, textiles and palm candy, among other things. In addition to marketing and selling their handicraft products, Fair Gift also supports the producers in design issues and product development, as well as with questions relating to packaging and exporting the goods.
